Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced structural loads engineer to develop and execute Coupled Loads Analysis for launch vehicles, interfacing with cross-disciplinary teams. You will document results for government and commercial customers and validate FEM models against tests.

Proficiency in NASTRAN, MATLAB and tools like HyperMesh/LS-DYNA is expected, with strong data-driven analytical skills and the ability to solve complex static and dynamic problems. This role requires U.S.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Passion for aerospace vehicle structural loads and related analysis.
• Finite Element Modeling experience.
• NASTRAN and MATLAB proficiency.
• Ability to solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods.
• Ability to process and present data for engineering applications.
• U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident or eligible status to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Launch vehicle CLA development and execution with cross-discipline inputs.
• Documentation and communication of CLA results for customers.
• Develop and refine Finite Element Models and validate against tests.
• Reduce FEM using Component Modal Synthesis methods.
• General loads development for launch vehicles and ground systems.
• Develop mathematical models and simulations for loads analysis.
• Handle large data sets and post-process for engineering use.
• Support additional low and high frequency loads tasks as needed.
