Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a loads engineering professional to support the development and operations of launch vehicles. You will develop and execute Coupled Loads Analysis, document results for diverse customers, and refine FE models for validation against tests.

You will solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based methods and present findings clearly. The role requires a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency in NASTRAN and MATLAB.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience with Finite Element Modeling (FEA).
• Proficiency in NASTRAN and MATLAB.
• Ability to solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods.
• Ability to present data for engineering applications.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Launch vehicle CLA development and execution with cross-discipline inputs.
• Document CLA results for internal, government, and customers.
• FE Model development/refinement and correlation to modal tests.
• FE Model reduction using Component Modal Synthesis (Craig-Bampton).
• Develop mathematical models and simulations for loads analysis.
• Manage large datasets, post-process data for engineering use.
• Support other loads tasks as required.
