Blue Origin LLC in Seattle, WA seeks an experienced Structural Loads Engineer to support the development and operations of launch vehicles. You will generate, communicate, and validate loads analysis for the New Glenn program, and work closely with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure robust inputs, assumptions, and outputs.

The role requires proficiency in loads analysis methods, including hand calculations, finite element modeling, and data analysis, with experience in NASTRAN and MATLAB.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proficiency with NASTRAN and MATLAB.
• Experience with finite element modeling and loads analysis.
• Ability to communicate technical results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Launch vehicle CLA development and execution with cross-discipline input.
• Document CLA results for internal, government, and commercial customers.
• Develop/refine FEM and correlate to modal tests.
• Perform FEM reduction using Component Modal Synthesis (e.g., Craig-Bampton).
• Develop general loads for launch vehicles and ground systems.
• Create mathematical models and simulations for loads analysis.
• Handle large datasets, data reduction, and post-processing for engineering use.
• Tackle additional loads tasks as needed.
