Job summary

Parexel is seeking a Scientist 3 – Laboratory and Instrumentation Coordinator to join as a full-time Parexel FSP on a long-term assignment onsite at a client location in Rahway, NJ. This role focuses on managing daily lab activities, ensuring safe operations, and optimizing resource use across multiple labs.

Qualifications

• Scientist 3 requires a B.S. with 3-5 years of experience
• Senior Scientist I requires a B.S. with 5+ years of experience
• Proven laboratory management experience with a strong understanding of lab operations and safety protocols.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a strong ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for laboratory functions, providing guidance and support to laboratory staff.
• Collaborate with various teams to ensure smooth operations during lab stand-downs and organizational initiatives
• Manage temperature storage facilities, including both emergency protocols and scheduled clean-outs.
• Prepare mobile phase and stock solutions for platform assays, ensuring they remain stocked and within expiry date.
• Receive samples through our laboratory management system, ensuring samples are ready for testing.
• Submit work orders for lab equipment and computer calibrations; facilitate scheduling with technicians and supervise their activities.
• Schedule and follow up on preventive maintenance for laboratory equipment
• Serve as the point of contact for lab utility needs.
• Manage inventory and procurement processes of lab supply. Order and coordinate the organization of common laboratory items; review backordered items and maintain updated inventories of essential supplies.
• Assist with scheduling, escorting, and on-site supervision of equipment technicians.
