Job summary

Rocket Lab, based in Long Beach, seeks a Senior IT Support Specialist to directly support staff on-site and partner with Infrastructure and Launch teams. You will own complex issues, mentor junior staff, and drive efficient IT service delivery in a fast-paced environment.

The role covers Windows/Linux desktop environments, PC hardware, networking, scripting, and AD/GP management, with occasional on-call shifts during launch windows and after-hours support.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in IT support or service and a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Operational experience with at least two of the following: Windows or Linux desktop OS, PC hardware, networking (TCP/IP/DNS), a scripting language, Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Experience participating in and supporting a medium to complex IT project from requirements to implementation and support.
• Familiarity with AI platforms and ability to write prompts, evaluate outputs, and identify AI-driven improvements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day IT service delivery to Rocket Lab staff.
• Track and update incident, request, problem, change, and project tickets and related docs.
• Act as on-site subject matter expert for IT support and mentor others.
• Provide instruction, guidance, technical support and documentation to different teams.
• Support Launch and Mission Operations during launch periods.
• Be flexible for shifts, on-call, and varied hours.
