Job summary

ASM Research, an Accenture Federal Services Company, seeks an IT Configuration Manager to lead configuration management across enterprise IT in a federal environment. You will govern the CMDB, enforce ITIL-aligned policies, and collaborate with infrastructure, applications, and security teams to prevent drift and enable rapid service restoration.

You will design and maintain CMDB data models, support change and incident workflows, and produce actionable reports for risk assessments and capacity

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in configuration management, CMDB administration, or related ITSM roles in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with CMDB design and governance in ITIL/ITSM environments.
• Experience with ServiceNow or BMC Remedy and related tooling.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and program management skills with ability to lead initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the CMDB data model, class structures, and relationship mappings.
• Establish and enforce configuration management policies and naming conventions.
• Integrate CMDB data with change, incident, and problem workflows to support impact analysis.
• Conduct regular configuration audits and remediation activities with owning teams.
• Collaborate with platform administrators to optimize CMDB capabilities in ServiceNow or similar tools.
• Produce configuration reports and visualizations for capacity planning, risk assessments, and compliance.
• Coordinate with ITIL processes to keep configuration data accurate across the lifecycle.
• Lead CMDB implementation and continuous improvement across hybrid environments.
