Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, is seeking an IT Configuration Manager to lead configuration management across enterprise IT environments in a federal setting. You will design, populate, and govern the CMDB, ensuring accurate relationships and baselines to support incident, problem, and change processes.

Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to prevent drift, produce actionable insights, and enable rapid service restoration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in configuration management / CMDB / IT service management for enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with CMDB principles and tools (e.g., ServiceNow or BMC Remedy).
• Ability to obtain SECRET clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational and project-management skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the configuration management system, including CMDB data model, structures, and relationships.
• Establish and enforce CM policies, procedures, and naming conventions aligned to ITIL and standards.
• Integrate configuration data with change, incident, and problem workflows for impact analysis and mapping.
• Conduct regular configuration audits, reconciliations, and baseline reviews with owning teams.
• Work with platform admins to implement CMDB in ServiceNow, including discovery, service mapping, and data normalization.
• Produce configuration reports and visualizations to support capacity planning, risk assessments, and compliance.
• Coordinate with change, incident, and release management to keep CMDB data accurate throughout the lifecycle.
• Lead or contribute to CMDB implementation and remediation across hybrid on-prem and cloud environments.
