Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company seeks a Junior IT Configuration Analyst to help keep the CMDB accurate and reliable across infrastructure and applications. You will collect, validate, and update CI records to reflect the current environment for operations and governance.

Under supervision, you will assist with audits, data quality checks, and analysis to support incident, change, and problem management within a federal IT setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT/CS/business-related field.
• 0–3 years in IT operations, service management, asset or configuration management.
• Foundational ITIL knowledge for service asset & configuration management.
• Hands‑on experience with ITSM or CMDB tools.
• Current secret security clearance or higher.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with task‑management ability.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate CI records in the CMDB by collecting, verifying, and updating data for infrastructure, applications, and services.
• Perform CMDB maintenance: create/update CIs, reconcile discovery data, resolve data conflicts.
• Assist with configuration audits, certifications, and remediation coordination with owning teams.
• Use ITSM/CMDB tools to navigate CI structures, run queries/reports, support impact analysis for incidents/problems/changes.
• Review change records and incidents to ensure CIs are correctly linked for traceability.
• Monitor data quality metrics and help implement corrective actions.
• Follow configuration governance practices and access controls to protect CMDB integrity.
• Collaborate with ITIL process owners to ensure data supports stable IT delivery in a regulated environment.
