Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, is seeking an IT Configuration Manager to direct CM practices across enterprise IT. You will govern CMDB design, population, and analytics to support incident, problem, and change processes in a federal IT setting.

You will collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to maintain baselines, prevent drift, and provide actionable insights for risk assessment and service restoration. A SECRET clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience.
• At least 8 years in configuration management, CMDB administration, or related ITSM roles.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow or BMC Remedy.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational and project-management skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office used to document processes, metrics, and reports.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the CMDB system, including data model, class structures, and relationship mappings.
• Establish and enforce CM policies, procedures, and naming conventions aligned to ITIL.
• Integrate CMDB data with change, incident, and problem workflows for impact analysis.
• Conduct regular CMDB audits, reconciliations, and baseline reviews for data quality.
• Collaborate with platform admins to implement CMDB in ServiceNow (discovery, mapping, normalization).
• Produce reports and visualizations for capacity planning, risk assessments, and compliance.
• Coordinate with change, incident, and release management to keep data current.
• Lead or contribute to CMDB implementation and remediation across hybrid environments.
