Job summary

Dow Inc. is seeking a Senior IP Counsel for its Commercial & Innovation Law group, located in Lake Jackson, TX or Midland, MI. You will provide counsel on Intellectual Property matters with emphasis on Dow’s Packaging & Specialty Plastics business.

The role requires a JD/LLB, 4+ years IP experience, USPTO registration, and U.S. work authorization. Domestic relocation assistance is available. Dow offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or Master of Laws.
• Admitted to State Bar or eligible for admission.
• U.S. work authorization without visa sponsorship.
• B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related tech field.
• Registered to practice before the USPTO.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, business‑oriented IP counsel on patents, trade secrets, licensing, tech development and IP‑related transactions.
• Review, draft and negotiate IP-related agreements including licenses, joint development, confidentiality and technology development agreements.
• Develop and implement IP strategies aligning with business objectives and maximize value of IP assets.
• Build and manage patent portfolios and coordinate external counsel for prosecution.
• Host client training on IP topics and support risk mitigation practices.
