Dow Inc. is seeking a Senior IP Counsel for its Commercial & Innovation Law group, based in Lake Jackson, TX or Midland, MI. The role focuses on strategic IP counsel for the Packaging & Specialty Plastics business, handling patents, licenses, and IP transactions.

You will partner with business, technology, and research teams to identify IP opportunities, manage outside counsel, and develop strategies to protect competitive advantages while supporting innovation across global operations.

Competenze

• Juris Doctor or Master of Laws.
• A minimum of 4 years practicing Intellectual Property law either in-house or with a major law firm.
• Admission to State Bar or eligible for admission.
• B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar technology.
• Registered to practice before the USPTO.
• U.S. work authorization – no visa sponsorship available.

Mansioni

• Provide practical, business-oriented legal counsel on IP and innovation matters, including patents, trade secrets, licensing, technology development, and IP-related transactions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate technology development agreements, collaboration agreements, confidentiality agreements, licenses, and joint development agreements involving IP.
• Identify IP risks and opportunities in collaboration with business teams and develop solutions that enable innovation and growth.
• Develop IP strategies aligning with business objectives and maximize value of IP assets.
• Build and manage patent portfolios, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications and coordinating with outside counsel.
