Job summary

Dow Inc. seeks a Senior IP Counsel to support its Commercial & Innovation Law group, based in Lake Jackson, TX or Midland, MI. You will provide IP counsel on patents, trade secrets, licensing, and technology development to protect Dow's competitive advantages.

The role requires a JD orLLM with 4+ years IP law experience, US Bar admission, USPTO registration, and a chemistry/tech background. Domestic relocation assistance is available and collaboration across teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or Master of Laws.
• A minimum of 4 years practicing Intellectual Property law either in-house or with a major law firm.
• Admission to State Bar or eligible for admission.
• B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar technology.
• Registered to practice before the USPTO.
• U.S. work eligibility without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, business-oriented IP counsel on patents, trade secrets, licensing, and IP transactions.
• Review, draft, and negotiate technology development and license agreements.
• Develop and manage patent portfolios and coordinate with outside counsel.
• Identify IP risks and opportunities in business and technology groups.
• Educate clients with training on IP topics and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with legal and cross-functional teams to support innovation and growth.
