Job summary

Dow is seeking a Senior IP Counsel for its Commercial & Innovation Law group, based in Lake Jackson, TX or Midland, MI. You will provide counsel on intellectual property topics, including patents, trade secrets, licensing, and technology development, supporting Dow's Packaging & Specialty Plastics business.

Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating IP agreements, identifying risks and opportunities with business teams, and managing patent portfolios.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or Master of Laws required.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, business-oriented legal counsel on IP and innovation matters, including patents, trade secrets, licensing and IP-related transactions.
• Review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of IP-related agreements (technology development, collaborations, confidentiality, licenses, joint development).
• Participate in business meetings to identify IP risks and opportunities and craft solutions to enable innovation and growth.
• Develop and implement IP strategies aligned with business objectives to protect competitive advantages and maximize asset value.
• Build and manage patent portfolios, prosecute patent applications, and coordinate with outside counsel.
