Job summary

Kin Insurance is seeking an Insurance Counsel - Forms to drive drafting of policy language for personal auto or property as Kin expands into new states and products. You will anchor one line and back up the other, serving as the primary drafting owner for your segment and advising on form wording and regulatory interpretations.

You will translate complex statutes into clear, filing-ready forms, handle regulator objections, and help shape Kin’s form standards across the nationwide base.

Qualifications

• JD/5+ years of policy form drafting experience.
• Experience drafting personal auto and property forms for multiple states.
• Translate statutes into policy language and respond to regulator objections.

Responsibilities

• Research state statutes and regulations to draft compliant policy wording.
• Draft responses to DOI objections and advocate for Kin's position with regulators.
• Advise on coverage interpretation and form wording to internal partners during audits.
• Create complete state and product forms packages ready for filing.
• Review forms and escalate novel state law questions to Senior Insurance Counsel.
• Maintain and update countrywide base forms and state kit for your line.
• Establish drafting standards and reusable language for faster state packaing.
• Provide internal training on policy forms and regulatory expectations.
• Serve as backup drafter for the other line of business.
