Kin Insurance is seeking an Insurance Counsel - Forms to shape policy language for personal auto and property as Kin expands into new states and products. You will draft complete form packages, advise on coverage interpretation, and ensure regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

You will anchor one line (personal auto or property) and serve as backup for the other, while building reusable language and training colleagues on regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• JD required with 5+ years of policy form drafting experience
• Experience drafting personal lines policy forms for multiple states
• Ability to read state insurance statutes and translate into policy language
• Draft responses to regulator objections on form filings
• Advise business stakeholders on coverage interpretation and policy wording
• Track record of delivering complete forms packages independently

Responsabilités

• Research state statutes and translate into compliant policy wording
• Draft responses to DOI objections and advocate for Kin's position with regulators
• Provide legal guidance on coverage interpretation to internal teams
• Draft state and product forms packages ready for filing
• Perform first-pass legal review and escalate novel state law questions
• Maintain and update forms packages for new statutes and DOI bulletins
• Establish drafting standards and reusable language for faster state packaging
• Deliver internal training on policy forms and regulatory expectations
• Serve as backup drafter for the other line of business
• Identify legal risks in product designs before drafting
• Review AI-assisted drafts for legal accuracy and compliance
• Keep forms up to date with product enhancements and coverage changes
