Job summary

Kin Insurance seeks an Insurance Counsel - Forms to draft policy language for personal auto or property as Kin launches in new states. You will anchor a line, back up the other, and advise on form wording and regulatory implications.

You’ll research statutes, draft forms, handle regulator objections, advise internal partners, and maintain filing-ready form packages in a remote-first environment supporting Kin across multiple states.

Qualifications

• JD required and 5+ years of policy form drafting experience.
• Experience reading state statutes and converting requirements into policy language.
• Experience drafting responses to regulator objections on form filings.
• Experience advising business stakeholders on coverage interpretation and policy wording.
• Track record of independently drafting complete forms packages from research to filing-ready.

Responsibilities

• Research state statutes and regulations and translate them into compliant policy wording.
• Draft responses to Department of Insurance objections and advocate for Kin's position.
• Provide legal advice on coverage interpretation to internal partners and during audits.
• Draft complete state and product forms packages for your line of business.
• Perform first-pass legal review and escalate novel state law questions to Senior Insurance Counsel.
• Maintain and update forms packages in response to statutes, regulations, and product changes.
