Job summary

Kin Insurance is seeking an Insurance Counsel - Forms to accelerate state and product expansion by drafting policy language ready for filing. You will anchor either personal auto or property forms and serve as a drafting owner, while advising on coverage in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

You'll research statutes, respond to regulator objections, and establish reusable form kits. This is a remote-first role with strong growth and impact opportunities for Kinfolk across states.

Qualifications

• JD required with 5+ years drafting policy forms.
• Experience drafting personal auto/ property forms for multiple states.
• Ability to read state statutes/regulations and turn into policy language.
• Draft responses to regulator objections on form filings.
• Advise internal partners on coverage interpretation and policy wording.
• Track record drafting complete forms packages independently.

Responsibilities

• Research state statutes and draft compliant policy language.
• Draft responses to DOI objections and advocate for Kin's position.
• Advise Claims, Product, and Customer Experience on coverage interpretation.
• Draft new state/product forms packages for your line.
• Perform first-pass legal reviews and escalate novel questions.
• Build countrywide base forms and state kits.
• Establish drafting standards and reusable language.
• Design and deliver internal training on policy forms.
