Job summary

Kin Insurance seeks an Insurance Counsel - Forms to draft policy language for new state launches, covering auto and property lines. JD and 5+ years of forms drafting are required.

You will draft filing-ready forms, provide regulatory and internal guidance, and ensure compliance across states as Kin expands. You’ll work within the Legal & Compliance team, anchoring one line and serving as a back-up for the other.

Qualifications

• Policy form drafting experience across trial and filing processes.
• Ability to translate statutes into clear, filing-ready policy language.
• Experience advising on coverage interpretation and form wording.
• Experience drafting responses to regulator objections on form filings.
• Experience leading complete forms packages independently.

Responsibilities

• Research state statutes and translate into compliant policy wording.
• Draft responses to Department of Insurance objections and advocate for Kin's position.
• Provide legal advice on coverage interpretation to internal teams.
• Draft complete new state and product forms packages for your line.
• Perform first-pass legal review and escalate novel state law questions.
