Kin Insurance is seeking an Insurance Counsel - Forms to draft policy language for aggressive state and product expansion. You will anchor either personal auto or property forms and serve as a drafting owner, with backup for the other line, while advising on coverage interpretation and regulatory questions.

You will join the Forms team within Kin's Legal & Compliance group, reporting to the Senior Insurance Counsel.

Qualifications

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• 5+ years of policy form drafting or equivalent experience.
• Experience drafting personal lines policy forms for multiple states.
• Ability to read state statutes and convert to policy language.
• Experience drafting responses to regulator objections.
• Experience advising business stakeholders on coverage interpretation and policy wording.

Responsabilités

• Translate statutes into compliant policy wording for forms.
• Draft responses to Department of Insurance objections and advocate Kin's position.
• Provide legal advice on coverage interpretation to internal partners.
• Draft complete state and product forms packages for your line of business, ready for filing.
• Perform first-pass legal review of forms and escalate novel state law questions.
• Maintain countrywide base forms and reusable state kits for your line of business.
• Establish drafting standards and reusable language to speed up state packages.
• Design and deliver internal training on policy forms and regulatory expectations.
• Serve as backup drafter for the other line of business.
