Job summary

Kin Insurance is seeking an Insurance Counsel - Forms to convert aggressive state and product expansions into filing-ready policy language. You will anchor personal auto or property forms, depending on experience, and act as a drafting owner for your line within the Forms team in Legal & Compliance.

You’ll advise internal partners on coverage interpretation and regulatory compliance, reviewing AI-assisted drafts for accuracy and maintaining up-to-date form packages across states to support Kin’s

Qualifications

• JD required and 5+ years of policy form drafting experience.
• Experience drafting personal lines policy forms for multiple states or equivalent.
• Ability to translate statutes and regulations into clear policy language.

Responsibilities

• Research state statutes and regulations and translate into compliant policy wording.
• Draft responses to regulator objections and advocate for Kin's position on form wording.
• Provide legal advice on coverage interpretation to internal partners.
• Draft complete state and product forms packages ready for filing.
• Perform first-pass legal review and escalate novel state law questions to Senior Insurance Counsel.
• Build and maintain countrywide base forms and state kits for your line.
• Establish drafting standards and reusable language to accelerate future packages.
• Design and deliver internal training on policy forms and regulatory expectations.
• Serve as backup drafter for the other line of business.
