Job summary

Kin Insurance is seeking an Insurance Counsel - Forms to own state and product form drafting as Kin expands into new states. You will draft policy language, research statutes, and respond to regulator objections.

You’ll anchor either personal auto or property lines and advise on coverage interpretation while reviewing AI-assisted drafts for regulatory compliance. You will help build standard form packages, establish reusable language, and train internal teams on regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• JD degree required.
• 5+ years of policy form drafting experience.
• Experience drafting personal auto or property forms for multiple states.
• Ability to translate statutes into policy language.
• Experience responding to regulator objections on form filings.
• Experience advising business stakeholders on coverage interpretation and policy wording.

Responsibilities

• Research state statutes and regulations and translate them into compliant policy wording.
• Draft responses to Department of Insurance objections and advocate Kin's position with regulators.
• Provide legal advice on coverage interpretation to internal partners (Claims, Product, Customer Experience).
• Draft complete state and product forms packages for your line of business (base policies, endorsements, notices).
• Review forms drafted by the team and elevate novel state law questions to Senior Insurance Counsel.
• Establish drafting standards and reusable language for faster state-package production.
• Design and deliver internal training on policy forms and regulatory expectations.
• Serve as backup drafter for the other line of business.
