Job summary

Kin Insurance is seeking an Insurance Counsel - Forms to drive state and product expansions with robust policy language. You will draft and file forms for personal auto and property, research statutes, and collaborate with regulators to ensure compliance across states.

You’ll lead state kit development, advise internal teams on coverage interpretation, and ensure regulatory alignment while supporting rapid launches across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• JD degree and 5+ years of policy form drafting experience.
• Experience drafting personal lines policy forms for multiple states.
• Reading state statutes and converting requirements into policy language.
• Drafting responses to regulator objections on form filings.
• Advising stakeholders on coverage interpretation and policy wording.
• Track record of independently delivering complete forms packages.

Responsibilities

• Research state statutes/regulations and translate into compliant policy wording.
• Draft responses to insurance regulators and advocate for Kin's form wording.
• Provide legal advice on coverage interpretation to internal teams.
• Draft new state/product forms packages ready for filing.
• Review forms and escalate novel state law questions to Senior Counsel.
• Maintain countrywide base forms and state kit for your line.
• Establish drafting standards and reusable language for faster production.
• Deliver internal training on policy forms and regulatory expectations.
• Back up the other line of business to ensure timely launches.
• Identify legal risks in product designs before drafting starts.
• Review AI-assisted drafts for accuracy and compliance.
