Kin Insurance seeks an Insurance Counsel - Forms to drive policy language for personal auto and property as we expand into new states. You’ll own drafting for your line and back up the other, advising internal partners and regulators on form wording and interpretation.

Required: JD and 5+ years drafting policy forms across multiple states, direct research of statutes, and experience delivering filing-ready form packages. Join Kin’s remote-first team and shape our regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• JD degree and bar admission in good standing.
• 5+ years of policy form drafting or related coverage interpretation.
• Experience drafting personal lines policy forms for multiple states.
• Ability to read state statutes and translate requirements into policy language.
• Experience drafting regulator objections responses and form filings.
• Ability to advise on coverage interpretation and form wording to internal partners.
• Track record delivering complete forms packages independently.

Responsabilités

• Research state statutes and draft compliant policy wording.
• Draft responses to regulator objections and advocate for Kin's form wording.
• Advise internal partners on coverage interpretation and form wording.
• Draft new state and product forms packages ready for filing.
• Review drafts and elevate novel state law questions.
• Build base forms and state kits for personal auto and property.
• Establish drafting standards and reusable language.
• Design and deliver internal training on policy forms.
• Serve as backup drafter for the other line.
• Identify legal risks in product designs before drafting.
• Review AI-assisted drafts for regulatory compliance.
• Maintain and update forms packages in response to statutes and DOI bulletins.
