Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced inpatient coder to support production operations in the Enterprise Revenue Cycle. The role involves reviewing complex inpatient documentation and assigning ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes with adherence to official guidelines and regulatory requirements.

You will work with CDI and quality teams to reconcile DRGs and ensure accurate reimbursement, while maintaining high productivity and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 7 years inpatient coding experience in acute care
• In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS
• Experience with revenue cycle processes and CDI workflows
• Familiarity with Official Coding Guidelines and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign codes per guidelines
• Ensure accurate code selection for high-dollar, long-stay cases
• Collaborate with CDI and quality teams on DRG reconciliation
• Maintain continuing education on coding guidelines and clinics
• Meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
