Job summary

Advocate Health in Texas is seeking an experienced inpatient coder to join the Enterprise Revenue Cycle team. The role involves reviewing complex inpatient documentation and assigning ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes to ensure compliant billing.

Will work full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours weekly, with opportunities for remote work in approved states. Requires AHIMA or AAPC coding certification and at least seven years of inpatient coding experience in acute care.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign accurate codes per standards.
• Ensure compliant coding following Official Coding Guidelines and regulations.
• Collaborate with CDI and quality teams to match DRGs and reimburse appropriately.
• Maintain ongoing continuing education and research coding topics.
