Job summary

Advocate Health seeks an experienced inpatient coder to manage complex documentation and assign codes across inpatient services, including high-dollar cases. You will work within the coding production operations team to ensure accuracy and compliance.

This role requires certification by AAPC or AHIMA, an associate degree in HIM, and strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS guidelines. The position is full-time with standard weekday hours and remote work eligibility in listed states.

Qualifications

• 7 years inpatient coding experience in an acute care facility.
• Experience with revenue cycle processes and CDI.
• Familiar with DRG reconciliation and Medicare processes.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure code selection follows official guidelines and regulations.
• Maintain high-quality standards and productivity targets.
• Collaborate with CDI and Quality teams to align DRG.
• Participate in payer audits and coding meetings.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records.
