The role involves coding complex inpatient cases across cardiology, neurology, and oncology service lines using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS. Requires AAPC or AHIMA certification and 7 years of inpatient coding in an acute care setting.

Qualifications

• 7 years inpatient coding experience in acute care setting.
• Associates degree in Health Information Management or related field.
• Coding certification (AAPC or AHIMA) required.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Maintain adherence to Official Coding Guidelines and regulations.
• Code high-dollar and long-stay cases across patient types.
• Collaborate with CDI and Quality teams to match DRGs and verify Medicare cases.
• Maintain ethical coding standards and ongoing professional education.
