Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced inpatient coder to join the Enterprise Revenue Cycle - Coding Production Operations team in North Carolina. The role covers inpatient coding across cardiology, neurology, and oncology service lines, with a full-time schedule Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week.

The coder will utilize ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes, maintain high quality and productivity, and collaborate with CDI and QA teams to ensure accurate reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Requires 7 years inpatient coding experience in acute care.
• Must hold Coding Certification from AAPC or AHIMA.
• Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field.
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign diagnosis and procedure codes.
• Adhere to coding guidelines and government regulations.
• Code high-dollar and long-stay cases with accuracy.
• Collaborate with CDI and Quality teams to align DRGs.
• Maintain ongoing education and attend coding updates.
