Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for acute care inpatient, rehab, swing bed and LTACH services. You will query physicians, resolve coding edits, and provide education to coders while aligning with guidelines and clinical knowledge.

The role supports remote employment for eligible states and involves collaboration with CDI and revenue teams to ensure documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy, query guidelines - Required
• Associate's Degree - Health Information Management / Medical Records - Required OR Bachelor’s Degree - Health Information Management / Medical Records - Preferred
• 3 Years - experience in HIM inpatient acute care coding - Required
• CCS / RHIA / RHIT certifications required or applicable
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding systems and Official Guidelines

Responsibilities

• Codes complex diseases, procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10-CM/PCS.
• Queries providers following Official Query Guidelines for documentation quality.
• Assigns MS-DRG and APR-DRG per regulatory guidelines.
• Mentors and trains coders.
• Collaborates with CDI, revenue integrity and other departments to ensure documentation accuracy.
• Ensures data accuracy for regulatory reporting.
