Job summary

Mosaic Life Care seeks an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for acute care inpatient and LTACH services. The role requires documentation queries, education duties, and collaboration with CDI and revenue teams to ensure accurate coding.

Education must include HIM coding credentials; 3 years inpatient acute care experience is required, with CCS/RHIA/RHIT credentials preferred. Remote work is allowed for certain states per policy.

Qualifications

• Must have coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy, query guidelines.
• Associate's Degree in Health Information Management/Medical Records required or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3 years HIM inpatient acute care coding experience required.

Responsibilities

• Codes ICD-10-CM/PCS for inpatient services including LTACH and swing bed.
• Queries providers to improve documentation and demonstrate severity of illness.
• Mentors and trains coders; ensure coding quality and productivity goals.
• Collaborates with CDI, revenue integrity, and other departments to ensure documentation accuracy.
• Completes analysis and special coding projects using reports.
