Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for acute care inpatient services, including LTACH. The role involves querying providers for documentation, resolving coding edits, and applying guidelines to ensure accurate DRG assignments.

Candidates should have HIM inpatient coding experience, relevant degrees, and CCS/RHIA/RHIT options; the position supports remote work for eligible states and offers opportunities to mentor coders and participate in ongoing

Qualifications

• Must have coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy.
• Associate's Degree - Health Information Management / Medical Records - Required OR Bachelor’s Degree - Health Information Management / Medical Records - Preferred
• 3 years HIM inpatient acute care coding experience - Required

Responsibilities

• Code complex inpatient diseases, procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10-CM/PCS per official guidelines.
• Query providers following Official Query Guidelines to improve documentation.
• Mentor and train coders; attain coding quality and productivity goals.
• Collaborate with clinical documentation integrity, revenue integrity, and other departments to ensure documentation accuracy.
• Maintain data accuracy for regulatory reporting and complete special coding projects.
