Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for acute care inpatient services, including LTACH. You will query physicians, resolve coding edits, and provide education to coders in collaboration with clinical documentation specialists.

The role requires 3 years of HIM inpatient acute care coding experience and CCS/RHIA/RHIT certifications, with education in Health Information Management.

Qualifications

• Must have coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy, query guidelines.
• Associate's Degree in Health Information Management / Medical Records required or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 3 years HIM inpatient acute care coding experience required.
• CCS or RHIA or RHIT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient services.
• Query providers to improve documentation.
• Assign MS-DRG and APR-DRG per guidelines.
• Mentor and train coders.
• Educate coders and participate in special projects.
