Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for acute care inpatient services, including LTACH. You will query providers, analyze documentation, and ensure accurate coding per guidelines. Remote work is available for eligible states.

Requirements include HIM coding education and 3 years of inpatient coding experience, plus CCS/RHIA/RHIT credentials. Collaboration with clinical teams and mentorship of peers are expected.

Qualifications

• Must have coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy, query guidelines - Required
• Associate's Degree - Health Information Management / Medical Records - Required OR
• Bachelor's Degree - Health Information Management / Medical Records - Preferred
• 3 Years - experience in HIM inpatient acute care coding - Required

Responsibilities

• Codes complex diseases, procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10-CM/PCS classification systems in accordance with guidelines and organizational standards.
• Queries providers following query guidelines to demonstrate severity of illness and risk of mortality.
• Collaborates with other departments to ensure accuracy of documentation and coding.
• Attains coding quality and productivity goals.
• Mentors and trains coders.
