Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for acute inpatient services and to query clinicians for documentation clarification. You will support education for coders and collaborate with CDI, revenue cycle, and quality teams to ensure accurate coding.

The role requires HIM inpatient coding experience, relevant degrees, and CCS/RHIA/RHIT certifications. Remote work option available for several states.

Qualifications

• Must have HIM inpatient acute care coding experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy.
• Certification required: CCS, RHIA or RHIT as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Codes ICD-10-CM/PCS for inpatient services including LTACH.
• Queries providers to improve documentation and capture severity of illness.
• Mentors and trains coders; meets quality and productivity goals.
• Collaborates with clinical documentation and revenue teams to ensure accuracy.
• Resolves intermediate coding edits and regulatory claim edits.
