Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a certified inpatient coder to support the Enterprise Revenue Cycle - Coding Production Operations. The role focuses on high-complexity inpatient coding using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS, with adherence to Official Coding Guidelines and regulatory requirements.

The candidate will contribute to maintaining high-quality coding accuracy, productivity, and collaboration with CDI and QA teams to ensure proper reimbursements.

Qualifications

• 7 years' inpatient coding experience in acute care
• Certification required: AAPC or AHIMA
• Knowledge of Official Coding Guidelines and compliance requirements

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign diagnosis and procedure codes (ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS).
• Ensure correct code selection following guidelines and regulations.
• Code high-dollar, long-stay cases for all patient types.
• Maintain: continue education, webinars, CPT guidelines, coding clinics.
• Collaborate with CDI and Quality teams to match DRGs and reconcile Medicare cases.
