Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer - Network to join our global team.

You will partner with software, operations and network teams to ensure reliability, scalability and performance of Akamai Connected Cloud infrastructure and services. You will define requirements, build automation, set SLOs, and mentor junior engineers while contributing to advanced networking designs and standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in SRE/Network/DevOps roles
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems
• Proficiency with configuration management tools (Ansible/Salt/Chef/Puppet)
• Experience with Linux networking and open source networking software (FRR, Bird, goBGP)
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI, and Cisco/Juniper gear
• Experience developing applications using Python, Bash, or Go
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Github Actions, ArgoCD)

Responsibilities

• Partner across teams to ensure reliability, scalability and usability of network infrastructure, products and services.
• Define requirements to influence designs and standards.
• Develop automation pipelines for development, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Define SLOs for network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with Dev and QA teams to improve code and stability.
• Mentor team members and drive code quality and architectural decisions.
