Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer - Network to join our multi-national team. You will partner with software, operations, and network teams to ensure scalable, reliable network infrastructure for Akamai Connected Cloud.

You will define requirements, build automation pipelines, and set SLOs while mentoring peers and driving architecture decisions. Strong experience with Linux networking and CI/CD tools is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience and a Bachelor's diploma in Computer Science or its equivalent.
• Experience in SRE/Network Reliability, Network Engineering, Software Engineering, or DevOps with large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Salt Stack, Chef, Puppet, or similar.
• Experience with Linux networking at the userspace level and FRR, Bird, or goBGP.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, OSI, and Cisco/Juniper routers and switches.
• Experience developing apps, contributing to codebases, code reviews, and scripting in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Github Actions, ArgoCD or similar.

Responsibilities

• Partner across teams to ensure reliability, scalability and usability of network infrastructure, products, and services.
• Define requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence new designs and standards.
• Develop automation pipelines to support development, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Define SLOs for network infrastructure within Akamai Connected Cloud for high availability and performance.
• Work with Dev and QA teams to create robust solutions, code improvements and stability.
• Mentor team members, drive code quality standards, and provide architectural leadership.
