Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer - Network to help build and operate our scalable network infrastructure.

You will work with a multinational engineering team to define standards, create automation, and drive reliability across Akamai's Connected Cloud. In this role you will mentor engineers, contribute to code quality, and partner with development and QA teams to deliver robust, high-performance networking solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in SRE/Network/DevOps environments.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency with configuration management tools like Ansible, Salt Stack, Chef, or Puppet.
• Experience with Linux networking and open source routing software (FRR/Bird/goBGP).
• Understanding of TCP/IP, OSI, Cisco/Juniper networking.
• Experience coding in Python, Bash, or Go and working with CI/CD tools.

Responsibilities

• Partner across teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and usability of network infrastructure and services.
• Define requirements throughout the product lifecycle to influence designs and standards.
• Develop automation pipelines to support development, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Define SLOs for Akamai Connected Cloud network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with Dev and QA to improve code quality, stability, and robustness.
• Mentor team members and provide leadership on architectural decisions.
