Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer - Network to join our global engineering teams.

You will partner with software development, operations, and network infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of Akamai Connected Cloud services. You will define requirements, build automation, set SLOs, review code, mentor teammates, and influence architectural decisions across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in SRE/Network/DevOps with distributed systems experience.
• Experience with Linux networking and open source networking software (FRR, Bird, goBGP).
• Proficiency with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Salt Stack, Chef, Puppet.
• Strong scripting in Python, Bash, or Go and exposure to CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD).

Responsibilities

• Partner across teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and usability of network infra, products, and services.
• Define requirements in the product lifecycle to influence designs and standards.
• Develop automation pipelines for development, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Define SLOs for network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with Dev and QA to improve code quality and stability.
• Mentor team members and drive architectural standards.
