Maximus seeks a Senior IBM COBOL Developer to support an IRS client in a fully remote, full-time capacity. The role focuses on designing, coding, testing, and maintaining COBOL-based solutions, with emphasis on DB2, CICS, and batch processing. An active IRS MBI is required.

You will collaborate with managers and engineers, update essential documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement of coding standards.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree required; five+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) required.
• Experience with IBM COBOL programming language.
• Experience with DB2, CICS, SQL, JCL and batch processing.

• Lead development of software solutions meeting business requirements; design, implement, test, and troubleshoot modules.
• Evaluate new coding techniques and tools; update as appropriate.
• Consult on requirements elicitation and definition; design software per requirements.
• Code software, perform code reviews, unit tests, and integration of modules.
• Provide guidance and training to other developers; assist testing and remediation.
• Maintain documentation and assist users with troubleshooting and production data analysis.
• Prepare workflow charts and convert to code; document program development.
