Maximus is seeking a Senior IBM COBOL Developer to support our IRS client on a full-time basis. This remote role requires an active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI).

You will lead the development, design, coding, testing, and documentation of COBOL-based solutions, with responsibilities spanning from requirements to production support. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree, plus expertise in COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, and SQL.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree required; 5+ years of professional experience preferred.
• Active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) required.
• Experience with IBM COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL and SQL is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the development of software solutions meeting business requirements, including design, unit testing, troubleshooting, and proposals to resolve issues.
• Evaluate new coding techniques, tools, and modules and implement as appropriate.
• Consult on requirements elicitation and definition.
• Design software solutions per systems requirements.
• Code software solutions per designs and perform code reviews, unit tests, and integration.
• Assist other developers with guidance and training.
• Support testing, remediation of defects, and production log analysis.
• Investigate new solutions and techniques to improve coding standards.
