Maximus is seeking a Senior IBM COBOL Developer for an IRS client on a remote basis. Candidates must hold an active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) and have substantial COBOL, DB2, and CICS experience.

Bachelor's degree required; 5+ years of relevant experience preferred.
Active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) required.
At least 4 years of IBM COBOL programming experience.
Experience with DB2 and IBM DB2 utilities.
Experience with CICS and JCL; strong SQL skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication; client-facing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead development of COBOL-based modules to meet business requirements; design, unit test, troubleshoot, and document.
Evaluate new coding techniques and tools for implementation.
Provide guidance and training to other developers and support teams.
Develop/maintain IBM COBOL programs and related documentation (FSPs/PRPs).
Perform or direct system analysis, code reviews, and testing activities.
Collaborate with management and engineers to clarify intent and propose changes.
Prepare workflow diagrams and translate into coded instructions.”],
