Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is expanding its Nuclear Power Group in the United States, focusing on digital modernization of nuclear plants and SMR projects. The role covers design, analysis, and oversight of instrumentation & control systems, including PLC/DCS/HSI work, with opportunities to lead cross-functional teams and engage with clients on complex digital modernization efforts.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of I&C design experience in heavy industrial settings and a strong foundation in engineering

Qualifications

• A BS or MS in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program is required.
• 10 or more years of experience in the design of instrumentation and controls engineering systems for heavy industrial plants.

Responsibilities

• Develop and market high level, complex programs for nuclear power projects related to design, operational excellence, safety, maintenance, and project management.
• Direct technical decision making in a project team environment with engineers and designers for digital upgrades and control systems.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve instrumentation and controls engineering issues across projects.
• Coordinate system design activities to ensure installation and operations comply with specs and client requirements.
• Perform Digital Systems Design Development for PLC, DCS, HSI, and digital instrumentation & control systems.
• Prepare and review calculations, master diagrams, schematics, and design input documentation for drawings.
• Interface with vendors for purchase specifications and review materials.
• Attend client meetings and site walkdowns to validate scope and client satisfaction.
• Support station outage activities as required.
