Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is expanding its Nuclear Power group in the U.S. You will work on major I&C projects including digital upgrades and SMR initiatives, directing technical decisions within a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes design accuracy, client coordination, and adherence to project specs, codes, and safety standards. Essentially you will perform digital systems design for PLC, DCS, and HSI, and contribute to first-of-a-kind (FOAK) projects while coordinating with vendors and

Qualifications

ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
10+ years in instrumentations and controls design for heavy industrial plants.
Experience with DCS/PLC/HSI and turbine/feedwater controls.
Knowledge of nuclear plant I&C design for BWR/PWR reactors is a plus.
Able to liaise with clients and review drawings.

Responsibilities

Develop and market high level, complex programs for nuclear power projects.
Direct technical decision making in a project team with engineers and designers.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve instrumentation & controls issues.
Coordinate design activities to meet specifications and codes.
Prepare and review design input, diagrams, and schematics.
Interface with vendors for materials and purchase specifications.
