Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced I&C Design Engineer for its Nuclear Power Group. The role focuses on upgrading and modernizing nuclear plants using PLC, DCS, and advanced control systems.

You will lead and support projects, coordinate across mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines, and drive technical execution with strong project management. The position requires 10+ years in I&C design engineering, ABET-accredited engineering education, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 10+ years of experience in I&C Design Engineering.
• Professional Engineering license is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience liaising with clients in a lead or support role.
• Experience reviewing design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop Digital Systems Design—PLC, DCS, touchscreens, network switches and control systems.
• Prepare control system functional and procurement specifications for nuclear plant control systems.
• Interface with the client to ensure proper project execution and satisfaction.
• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, and studies for client requirements.
• Manage resources and develop estimates for task completion and budget.
• Support the development of proposals and review diagrams for controls solutions.
• Evaluate vendor bids and witness FAT performance on behalf of the client.
• Support project implementation at the client’s facilities.
