Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to lead digital upgrades and design activities for nuclear power projects. You will direct technical decisions within project teams and work on PLC, DCS, and HSI systems through all design stages.

The role requires a BS in engineering from an ABET-accredited program and 20+ years of relevant experience, with strong client liaison and drawing review skills. On-site work at heavy industrial plants is expected.

Qualifications

We require a BS degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Twenty plus years of experience in instrumentation and controls design for heavy industrial plants.
Technically knowledgeable about available equipment and pre-engineered systems for system design.
Experience liaising with clients in a support or lead engineering role is desirable.
Experience reviewing design drawings prepared by others.

Responsibilities

Lead digital systems design development for PLC, DCS, HSI, and networked controls in nuclear plants.
Direct technical decision making within project teams to meet specifications and client requirements.
Coordinate design activities to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
Prepare and review calculations, system requirements, and input for drawings and cable block diagrams.
Interface with vendors and review equipment purchase specifications.
Attend client meetings and site walkdowns to validate scope and satisfaction.
