Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Warrenville, IL is seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to design ventilation and chilled water systems for laboratory and industrial facilities, with a three-day in-office, two-day remote hybrid schedule.

You will develop P&IDs, perform design calculations, prepare equipment specifications, and support cross-functional teams through detailed design phases, always aligning with ASHRAE codes and current industry standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program is required.
• 5+ years of HVAC system design experience for lab/industrial facilities.
• Proficiency in TRACE 700 or Carrier HAP.
• Ability to create design flow diagrams and P&IDs.
• Familiarity with codes and standards for HVAC and ventilation.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems for lab and industrial facilities.
• Develop integrated HVAC systems including ventilation, control room, and chilled water systems.
• Prepare technical specifications for HVAC equipment.
• Perform design calculations and develop detailed system design.
• Support engineers, PMs, clients, and suppliers to ensure timely design.
• Assist senior engineers with facility upgrades and client presentations.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE and current HVAC codes and standards.
