Job summary

Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group is seeking an experienced HVAC engineer to design and optimize HVAC systems for laboratory and industrial facilities. The role includes coordinating design phases, performing calculations, and preparing equipment specs to deliver timely, compliant solutions.

The position supports hybrid work with three days in the office and two remote days, collaborating with clients, project managers, and engineers while applying ASHRAE standards and current codes.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
• 5+ years of HVAC system, ventilation, heating, and chilled water design experience for labs/industrial facilities.
• Proficiency in TRACE 700 or Carrier HAP.
• Ability to create design flow diagrams and P&IDs.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards for HVAC/ventilation.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems for labs and industrial facilities including ventilation, chilled water, and heating systems.
• Develop integrated HVAC systems for commercial/industrial projects and control rooms.
• Support planning, scheduling, and coordination of detailed design phases.
• Perform design calculations and develop detailed system designs.
• Prepare technical specifications for HVAC equipment and engineering studies.
• Assist senior engineers with reviews and client presentations; coordinate with clients and suppliers.
