Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an HVAC engineer with 7+ years of experience to design and optimize HVAC systems for laboratory and industrial facilities. You will perform design calculations, develop P&IDs, and prepare equipment specifications, collaborating with project teams and clients to deliver complete, compliant designs.

The position emphasizes familiarity with ASHRAE standards and current HVAC codes, with responsibilities spanning planning through detailed design in a collaborative, on-site

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 7+ years of HVAC system, ventilation, heating, and chilled water design experience for lab/industrial facilities.
• Proficiency in TRACE 700 or Carrier HAP.
• Ability to create design flow diagrams and P&IDs.
• Prior knowledge of codes and standards applicable to HVAC and ventilation.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems for commercial/industrial facilities including ventilation, control rooms, laboratories, chilled water and heating systems.
• Develop integrated HVAC systems with cross-functional teams.
• Prepare technical specifications for HVAC equipment and engineering studies.
• Support senior engineers, PMs, clients, and suppliers to ensure timely design and reviews.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE and current HVAC codes and standards.
