Jacobs in San Francisco is seeking a Senior HVAC Engineer to lead our Building Mechanical team on data center projects, delivering innovative HVAC designs, overseeing field investigations, equipment sizing, and construction design packages.

You'll mentor staff, coordinate with clients and vendors, ensure schedule and technical quality, and work within Jacobs' hybrid policy that balances office and remote collaboration to deliver high-impact solutions for complex facilities.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years’ experience in the design of HVAC systems.
• Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to the design of HVAC systems.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Adaptability to work within a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
• Ability to lead a building mechanical team on a project and to collaborate with other discipline team members remotely.

Responsabilités

• Layout and design HVAC systems for data centers, EVs, and heavy industrial facilities.
• Develop design criteria for HVAC systems incl. cooling/heating, humidity, cleanroom needs.
• Create P&IDs and design documents, size equipment.
• Layout ductwork based on P&IDs.
• Prepare final design docs with specifications and operation sequences.
• Mentor junior staff.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to meet schedule and quality.
